textured & layered abstract landscapes

ABOUT SHARMAIN:

Sharmain is an abstract artist born and raised in the Yarra Valley and is inspired by colour, texture, textiles, and interior design.

In 2010 she dedicated herself to her passion of creative arts, discovering a love of abstract painting which has been her focus ever since.

Sharmain works on large scale textured canvases with multiple layers of acrylic paint, ink and mica powder, creating a visual balance with movement and details using an intuitive approach, which is continually evolving.

Sharmain has two styles, abstract ethereal paintings which are created vertically using soft body and impasto paint.

Fragmented landscapes which are created horizontally with ink, medium, and mica powder.

Both styles are textured and layered, ranging from soft and delicate, to jewel tones.

An added advantage is that many of her paintings can hang horizontally or vertically.

Sharmain has exhibited in multiple art shows and in 2019 one of Sharmain’s paintings was used as inspiration for high end Australian brand Nikel and Sole / Ark Clothing Company.
