YAVA is thrilled to be able to move beyond the gallery walls and embed in a range of locations across the Yarra Valley. Join us as our artists activate the gallery space at Arts Centre Warburton. YAVA’s goal is to inspire, educate and bring people together. World-class art, artists, patrons and collectors coalesce in our spaces, which are inherently tied to the Yarra Valley region.

ARTS CENTRE WARBURTON

The much loved Arts Centre, Warburton is a beautiful complex of historic buildings.

It includes the wonderfully preserved art deco Mecca Theatre, which was built in 1934; the Mechanics Institute Hall which opened with a grand ball in 1913; and a central art gallery which looks out onto a lush edible garden with crab apple trees and berry bushes.

Just beyond, the flowing and revered Yarra River provides a beautiful backdrop to the Art Centre.

Nature. Nurture.  is a collection of contemporary artworks by Clair Bremner, inspired by tranquil landscapes and serene environments in the home.

From the subtle portrayal of still life scenes to the bold, vibrant exploration of abstract bushland, Bremner explores the beauty of the environment by inviting the viewer to consider how the home reflects nature.

Her work echoes nature's tranquillity, peace, and calm, a visual connection to the natural world. Clair's artworks are expressive and imaginative, with a solid painterly approach and a whimsical twist. 

Clair Bremner is an accomplished full-time artist based in the Yarra Valley who explores the beauty and the wonders of the natural world. Her artwork has been published extensively in magazines and articles, and her original paintings are in private collections worldwide. 

Artist Demonstration Event
Sat 4 June - Clair will be Artist in Residence on this day with a public demonstration of her painting an artwork 2pm-4pm to open her exhibition, giving the community a chance to meet the artist and witness her process in motion. Join Clair in the Studio Gallery at Arts Centre Warburton as our guest.
