ABOUT ALI:
Ali Griffin is a contemporary, conceptual artist with a strong reputation for diverse, multi-disiplinary artworks which have been showcased in public art installations such as the McClelland Sculpture Gallery & Park, The YVA|Yering Station Sculpture Exhibition & Awards, The Memo Foyer, and the Burrinja Climate Change Biennale, and through solo and group exhibitions.
She has been commissioned to make public artworks by organisations such as Yarra Ranges Council, The Lions Club, and participated in the Toolangi Sculpture Trail 2016.
In her practice, Ali is interested in creating work that has meaning and connection to the viewer. Ali explores conceptual responses within her work, and uses multiple mediums, sustainable practices and site specific considerations which often combine to enhance the final piece.
She is passionate about topical social and environmental justice issues, which extend her mediums, interests and outcomes.
She has a widely varied background, beginning in advertising and design, through to becoming an Arts Worker, whilst retaining her arts practice.
She brings her unique ability to speak directly to cultural significance through accessible narratives; essential for collaborations, public art installations and community precinct activations.
