ABOUT JOHN:

John Bodin was formally trained at RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) Bachelor of Arts-Photography and has been recognised by the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) with master photo status and honorary life membership.

His work is principally concerned with the utility of the urban landscape within a semi-abstracted interpretation. 

He is represented by Anita Traverso Gallery Melbourne and Manyung Gallery Group - Mornington Pennisula, Victoria. He has had four solo shows and twelve group exhibitions in the last 13 years. He was a finalist in the New Social Commentaries Acquisitive Prize, Toyota Community Spirit Gallery ‘Crossroads’ exhibition, the Castlemaine State Festival and the acclaimed Prometheus Visual Art Award.

In 2009 work was selected for the Ballarat Foto Biennale fringe festival.

Public acquisitions include two works by The City of Yarra (Melbourne) and three pieces by Art Bank Melbourne. He has been privately collected in Australia and New Zealand.

He has consistently been invited to judge at the AIPP national awards and has guest lectured at RMIT University (Media & Communication) and Photographers Study College in Melbourne.

John Bodin resides and works from his Warburton studio in the Yarra Valley.
