Deanne Eccles

SUBLIMe

Seeding inspiration through the canvas to your senses

The pendulum swings in concert with its momentum: in just this way, Deanne Eccles embodies her approach to the canvas. In, she is the subjective responder, applying her brush to the canvas. Out, she is the objective observer, feeling into the painting and where to go next. Deanne cultivates a flow state to create non-didactic works of abstraction that inspire an active experience, without telling the viewer where to look or what to think.

For her solo exhibition, Sublime, Deanne has developed a series of paintings that will hang in subtly pocketed spaces of YAVA Gallery, creating a one-on-one experience that invites immersion and contemplation. Aligned with her practice of flow, she has incorporated the concept of sensory perception to build musicality into the exhibition.

During the exhibition, through an osmotic process, musicians will be working with body sense response techniques to tap into the atmosphere of Deanne’s artworks. From their response, Kaylie and Gelareh will be creating new musical compositions. Feel your own body sense response as you witness the culmination of this process in a final concert by these professional musicians.
