ABOUT BEV:
Bev is a mixed media artist who creates her paintings using mainly acrylic paints and inks. Using all manner of tools and brushes she builds up layers and marks in an intuitive process to achieve her colourful artworks. Her painting studio sits amongst trees at the end of a paddock overlooking a garden she has created for her bees, called The Queen Bee Garden. Many of Bev’s artworks are of colourful rambling gardens or abstracted landscapes. Flowers, leaves and trees are prominent features and the occasional bugs are also included.
Pottery has been a very recent addition to her creative pursuits, turning a garage/chook shed into a pottery studio, becoming Chook Shed Pottery. She has been experimenting with different clays, textures and finishes to create functional art and sculptural pieces.
Bev only has to step outside into her beautiful rustic garden for inspiration and a drive into the surrounding valley also provides many inspiring opportunities.
Bev hopes that her creations give joy and happiness and that the viewer notices her love of how colours play and interact against each other prompting curiosity and moments of discovery.
Bev is a regular participant of Yarra Valley Open Studios.
