ABOUT BRONWYN:
Bronwyn uses imagery such as a flock of starlings - a murmuration -to serve as metaphor for a loving community, unafraid to talk about and support those experiencing loss.
As an artist in residence in palliative care, she has experienced the power of human to human connection and the role art plays in facilitating much needed conversations and expressions of love and gratitude. She aims to show that art representing this difficult subject can be full of beauty and light. Her work encourages the viewer to contemplate what a compassionate community would look like, and how each of us has the power to make it happen.
Having spent countless hours watching birds flock together, she knows their movements intimately. Bronwyn has an understanding of their directional shift, how each bird must be an individual; slightly different from the rest. She sketches abstract shapes and considers the flow and movement within them. From here she builds the flock, allowing the birds to dictate where they want to fly.
Bronwyn studied Visual Art at RMIT and was a member of Spike Print Studio UK for four years. Her work has been acquired by Bendigo Bank and exhibited widely across England and Australia.
