ABOUT JESSICA:
Jessica Harris is an educator, author and multimedia artist living and working in Mount Evelyn, Melbourne. She approaches most mediums with enthusiasm but at the moment is fixated on collage, painting and drawing.
The key themes of her work are exploring the human condition. The majority of her work is an emotional response to an everyday event seemingly small and insignificant but at the time monumental. Looking at the emotions of relationships and dealing with the everyday trivialities is what inspires her art the most. She is fascinated by the enormity of emotions and how they are contained within such a small and hidden place within ourselves and yet dictate everything in our lives and what we do.
She is passionate about providing good quality, engaging and enriching art experiences for all children and runs classes from her home studio – The Joy Ave Studio, at different times throughout the year.
2020 saw her self-publish her first children’s book ‘My name is Buster’ fulfilling a life-long dream with more books on the way.
She lives with her husband, two children, a flock of chickens and a very naughty dog named Buster.
