ABOUT PHOEBE:

Phoebe Rose Lines is a writer, theatre maker, musician, songwriter, painter and potter.

Phoebe’s writing is steeped in myth and faerie tale. The language of story is written in her bones, and through this she explores the archetypes of our inner psychology. Her work spans genres - from rhyming children’s books, and sophisticated picture books for adults and teens exploring complex human experiences, through to young adult fiction, poetry and photography pieces, and works of dark faerie tale for adults. Cartography of the soul, archeology of the psyche - her tales navigate a tangled, and often spiralling descent into the realm of those denizens of the human psyche we perhaps would prefer not to meet. Motifs of old tales spin, turn on their head and spill out the roiling gizzards and tender morsels of our deepest selves. Sometimes confronting, always enchanting, her words are spellbinding.

Phoebe is currently working on a collection of macabre feminist short story faerie tales ; her Breathing Stories series in collaboration with photographer Kate J Baker; and a young adult magic realism mystery set in a vintage steampunk alternate reality.
