Same but Different: A Trilogy at La Mama 2023

ABOUT BEATA:

Beata Frey Taylor is a writer, living on Wurundjeri country in the Yarra Valley, Victoria.

She writes plays, poetry and short stories and finds her inspiration in life and people. Her trilogy, Same But Different (2021), written in free verse was performed at La Mama in 2023. Her play Shrouded in Silence (2016) was shortlisted for the Elevate 2016 season of new works for Theatre 451.

Beata is also the author of the poetry collection Shaft of Light (2015) and has been published in Poetica Christi’s poetry collection Lightness of Being (2014) and Stringybark’s Behind the Wattles (2012).

Beata draws on her training and experience as a social worker, music teacher and writer to explore life’s possibilities and challenges. Her writing is an honest exploration of life and loss that is both universal and personal.
