ABOUT SARAH J:
Sarah J is an emerging soft pastel and acrylic artist, living in Chirnside Park, Victoria. Sarah was born in the UK and spent her younger years in California, USA.
Sarah has been drawing and painting since she was young, and her favourite things to draw were colourful flowers and waterfalls.
Sarah moved to Melbourne, Australia with her family in 1980, and since then has been in awe of the raw beauty of Australia. As a mature artist, she has continued to capture her love of nature, preferring to use different mediums, depending on the subject matter, and mood that she wishes to create.
Sarah has a definitive style, less is often more, and enjoys using vibrant colours. She works mainly in soft pastels, acrylic paint, and gouache. Sarah is greatly influenced by the Impressionist artists, especially Claude Monet, finding inspiration in their interpretation of light, and application of colour. Her pastel work often conveys her feelings about a place, or a moment in time.
In 2020, she decided it was time to actively pursue her artistic dreams, aspiring to create meaningful artwork, straight from her heart. Sarah is happily married, and has two stepsons.
