ABOUT VALERIE:
When I was a small child I used to draw in church. My sister Carol, inspired me with her drawings. I enjoyed art at school and beyond, sketching whenever I had time.
It wasn’t until I was 29 years old that I took up painting lessons with Oline Simons and loved it! I also dabbled in folk-art painting and taught lessons for 5 years.
In the early 2000’s I joined the Vic Arts Society where I tried out pastels in Barb McManus’ Life Drawing classes. Since then I have explored various media and have been enjoying oil painting and fabric collage.
Medium: textile collage, painting
