ABOUT DAVID:

David is an artist, paper sculptor and author who now paints highly detailed landscapes and fragments of landscape.

In outback WA he found an old Masonic Lodge standing alone in the vastness. In a deep Pilbara gorge he found twisted roots of a giant fig tree and nearby a delicate flower growing out of the hard rock. At the entrance to the Gippsland lakes he found an old sea wall and while in New Zealand, sheep tracks sculpting a green hillside. These and others David has painted in oils on stretched canvas, often cropping his composition tight, to create sometimes edgy, other times peaceful contemporary landscapes.

Whilst David’s focus is now on painting, his career has been a long journey from graphic design to illustration, calligraphy, award winning children’s book author and illustrator and paper sculpture. His work has been displayed in numerous solo and group exhibitions in most states of Australia and includes a piece in the National Gallery of Victoria collection.

David is actively supporting the artists in the Yarra Valley as Vice President of Yarra Valley Arts.
